Skin boosters are microinjections of hyaluronic acid placed just beneath the surface of the skin. Unlike dermal fillers, which add volume and structure, skin boosters are designed to improve the quality of the skin itself. They work by drawing and holding moisture within the tissue, which softens fine lines, improves elasticity and restores the light-reflecting quality that skin loses with age, sun exposure and lifestyle.
At our London clinic we use Skinvive by Juvéderm, the first and only hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable of its kind approved for improving skin smoothness. Skinvive is manufactured by Allergan Aesthetics, the same company behind the Juvéderm range, and it is the only skin booster we offer. That choice is deliberate. Dr Parikh sits on the Allergan Medical Institute Faculty and works exclusively with products backed by robust clinical data and a fully traceable supply chain.
Your treatment begins with a face-to-face consultation, where Dr Parikh will assess your skin quality, discuss what you would like to improve and confirm whether skin boosters are the right approach. The treatment itself takes around thirty minutes. A series of tiny injections is placed across the treatment area using a very fine needle, and topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep you comfortable.
Most patients notice their skin looking fresher and more hydrated within two to four weeks, with results continuing to develop as the hyaluronic acid integrates. Improvements typically last around six months, and many patients choose to maintain their results with a top-up treatment twice a year.
